As a species we have moved from the most rudimentary type of storytelling – re-enacting primievel hunts by the fireside and drawing on cave walls – to the abstracts of a spoken language; then the symbolism of the printed word and the development of the fine arts…from still photographs; then to recorded sound and images…to today’s multimedia on the Internet.
Technology has made the tools to create visual stories available to everyone. However, it takes technical expertise, mastery of language, experience, and a love of all forms of the art of storytelling to utilize these tools and create truly compelling videos.
